    Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound carrots, peeled, trimmed, and sliced diagonally into ⅜-inch coins
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
  • 1/16 teaspoon garlic powder or ground cinnamon (to taste)
  • Ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • Chopped parsley (optional, for serving)
  • Instructions

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add carrots, salt, ginger, garlic powder (or cinnamon), and black pepper.
  • Cook, stirring often, for 15–20 minutes, until carrots are starting to soften but still slightly firm.
  • Add butter, brown sugar, honey, and orange juice. Stir to combine.
  • Simmer over medium to medium-high heat for 10–15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the glaze thickens and coats the carrots.
  • Reduce heat if glaze darkens or cooks too fast.
  • Serve immediately, topped with chopped parsley if desired.
