J.R. Organics began over 50 years ago with Joe Rodriguez, Sr. on the beautiful rolling hills of Valley Center. Now farmed by Joe, Jr., 4th generation farmer, who in 1986 received his Certified California Organic Farm Certification (CCOF).

Joe participated in the Earth Day celebrations for several years, where his booth brought public awareness to the benefits of organic food production.

For five years Joe attended various seminars at Mira Costa College regarding the latest in organic growing techniques such as soil fertility, beneficial insects and composting.

The produce you receive from J.R. Organics is grown using some of the best organic techniques available, including crop rotation, green manures, contour plowing, etc. In addition to compost, the fertilizers include rock phosphate, green sand, worm castings and minerals.

You are assured that the produce you receive from this CSA program is richer in vitamins, minerals and flavor than most vegetables, herbs and fruits you could obtain anywhere else.

Together, Joe, Sr. and Jr., have over 100 years of farming experience and work to bring you the highest quality organic produce.
